The short version: Brisk does not collect, store, or share your personal data. Your health information never leaves your device. We don't have accounts, servers, or ad networks. We just count your steps.
Brisk ("we", "our", or "the app") is a step-counting application for iPhone that reads data from Apple Health to help you track daily movement. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.
By using Brisk, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Brisk requests read-only access to the following data types from Apple HealthKit:
This data is accessed solely to display your activity on-screen and to power the Brisk Coach feature (smart nudges based on your walking patterns).
Brisk does not write any data back to Apple Health.
Brisk is built on a zero-collection model. We do not collect:
There are no user accounts in Brisk. You do not register or log in. There is no backend database storing anything about you.
Brisk stores the following data locally on your device using iOS secure storage (AsyncStorage / Keychain):
This data exists solely on your iPhone. Deleting the app removes all stored preferences and cached data permanently.
If you enable notifications, Brisk uses local notifications only. These are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device โ no notification server, no push infrastructure, no external service.
Brisk Coach analyzes your historical walking times (stored locally) to schedule nudges at times you're most likely to be active. This analysis never leaves your device.
You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings โ Brisk โ Notifications, or within the app under Settings.
Brisk version 1.0 does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-sharing services. There are no SDKs from advertising networks, no crash reporters, and no telemetry frameworks.
The only external integration is Apple HealthKit, which is governed by Apple's own privacy framework. Your HealthKit data is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.
In compliance with Apple's HealthKit guidelines, Brisk makes the following explicit commitments:
You can revoke Brisk's access to HealthKit at any time via the Health app on your iPhone: Health โ Sharing โ Apps โ Brisk โ Turn Off All.
Brisk is intended for users aged 13 and older. It is rated 4+ on the App Store, as the app contains no inappropriate content. However, the App Store age rating of 4+ reflects content suitability, not our target demographic.
We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Because Brisk collects no personal information from any user, this policy is satisfied by design.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the app, you can simply delete the app from their device to remove all locally stored data.
Because Brisk does not collect or store personal data on any server, there is no database of your information to access, correct, or delete. Your rights are fully satisfied by the on-device nature of the app:
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), California (CCPA), or any other jurisdiction with privacy rights legislation, the above design means your rights are satisfied structurally โ there is no personal data held about you to request, correct, or delete.
Because no personal data is transmitted to or stored on external servers, the attack surface for your information is limited to your physical device. We rely on iOS's built-in security model (device encryption, app sandboxing, and Face ID / Touch ID) to protect locally stored preferences.
If your device is lost or stolen, we recommend using iCloud's "Erase iPhone" feature via Find My to remove all data, including any Brisk preferences stored locally.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we introduce any data collection in a future version, we will notify you within the app before the change takes effect and obtain your explicit consent where required by law.
Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
